Geopark founding partner Charnwood Arts are launching a new exhibition on Monday 26th February, which celebrates a range of artwork created by the Safe, Well, Happy group, supported by artist Lucy Stevens. This work was undertaken as part of the Geopark’s ‘Celebrating Charnwood Forest‘ project, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Safe, Well, Happy is a social group for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism and over the past two years we have been working alongside the group on numerous projects, including the co-creation of an accessible trail at Lower Beacon Hill. They have explored a large range of artistic techniques and have hugely developed their creative skills and confidence.
The exhibition opens at the Charnwood Arts building in Loughborough on Monday 26th February, and will be open every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 10am-2pm, until March 21st. It is free to attend, and other viewing times may be available via appointment.
You can find Charnwood Arts at 27 Rectory Road, Loughborough, LE11 1UW – just ring to doorbell to be welcomed into the exhibition.
