Charnwood Arts Launches New Projects With The Geopark

Charnwood Arts is launching a number of new projects, allowing the public to engage with the themes of Charnwood Forest is new and interesting ways. These opportunities are supported by the Geopark through funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Throughout August, you can take part in ‘Found Sound‘ and have the opportunity to get to know Charnwood Forest better in accessing and connecting with the natural beauty of Charnwood Forest through the medium of sound and music. Found Sound aims to promote wellbeing through participation and the positive health benefits associated with being in nature and listening to the sounds of the forest. By engaging with the forest and collecting sounds you will be involved in creating unique musical compositions made available worldwide, celebrating Charnwood Forest, Britain’s unexpected upland. For more information, see the Charnwood Arts Website.

Also in August, you can visit Beacon Hill Country Park to see this year’s Up To The Beacon Sculpture Event. Supported by the Geopark and Artspace Loughborough, artists will be transforming part of Beacon Hill Country Park into a wonderland of nature that we normally can’t see – the magic that is occurring beneath our feet – fungi, mycelium and roots! The project will include a series of creative workshops, some amongst the installations at the park. Find out about all the events involved in this project, and more, on the Charnwood Arts Website.
