Join us and friends from Bradgate Park for an exciting day of exploration and learning at our joint Ask a Geologist event as part of Heritage Open days. Whether you’re a geology enthusiast or a nature lover, this free event offers a unique opportunity to dive into the world of rocks, stones, and fossils!
With our friends from Bradgate Park Trust, and Universities across the UK, we will be bringing you:
- Bring Your Own Samples: Have a rock or stone you’ve always wondered about? Bring it along! Our geologists will be on hand to help identify your finds and provide insights into their composition and history. We will do our best to help!
- Meet a Geologist: Chat with a professional geologist and uncover the fascinating history of Charnwood Forest and Bradgate Park. Learn about the geological significance of the area and how its unique features were formed over millions of years.
- Hands-On Rock and Stone Samples: Get up close and personal with a variety of rocks and stones from the local area. Touch and examine these specimens as you learn about their origins and the stories they tell.
