A local Member of Parliament recently visited the Geopark to hear about our future plans for UNESCO status.
Peter Bedford, MP for Mid Leicestershire, visited Bradgate Park and heard from Geopark and Bradgate Park Trust staff about the important work we are doing together to help conserve and celebrate the very special geological heritage in the region.
Noting that it was also English Tourism Week, the group were also joined by colleagues from the National Forest, and Peter was able to hear first hand about the valuable contribution that projects like the National Forest and the Geopark can make to local economies through the development of sustainable tourism.
