A Coherent Wildlife Network
A bigger, better, more joined up approach to managing Charnwood Forest, linking up and extending out from the central area where the best wildlife habitats remain. The project has four strands: grasslands, woodland, natural flood management and wildlife recording including a special project focusing on the Charnwood Spider.
THE ACTION
Aims
The project aims to improve habitat connectivity across the Forest and support distinctive Charnwood Forest habitats and species. To increase the coverage and condition of key habitats. To grow a body of trained and experienced wildlife recorders that can help with ongoing monitoring of key habitats.
