Learn all about making medieval ink made from oak galls which are found right here in the Geopark. Oak gall ink was used to create some of our most iconic documents, including Domesday Book and Magna Carta. Teachers can either follow our short film which provides all of the instructions needed to make ink, or schools within the Geopark can contact us to request a free workshop or CPD session where participants can make ink and have a play with our collection of natural inks.
You can view our video, guiding you through the process of making oak gall ink HERE.
